FORWRD Court Caddy vs. ADV Pickleball Backpack V2: Which Pickleball Bag Is Right for You?
We make bags that compete with ADV. That means we've spent real time with their lineup — picking apart what they get right, where they fall short, and who should actually buy one. Here's the honest breakdown.
The FORWRD Court Caddy ($325) was designed with input from over 500 real players. Built around one idea: a bag serious enough to carry your laptop to work and organized enough to get you to the kitchen line without digging. The ADV Pickleball Backpack V2 ($225) takes a different angle — practical built-in features including a cooler and shoe compartment, with a portion of sales going to youth sports nonprofits.
Both are legitimate bags worth considering. Here's how they actually compare.
Design
The FORWRD Court Caddy has a premium, structured silhouette — part camera bag, part tech backpack, part gear hauler. Premium PU leather and TPU-coated nylon give it scratch and water resistance. It's a bag people notice at the courts. The rigid build keeps its shape when fully packed, which matters when you're reaching for the laptop sleeve without unpacking everything first.
The ADV V2 goes with a cleaner, more traditional backpack design. No premium flair, but nothing to apologize for either. If you want a bag that blends in anywhere, that's a genuine ADV win.
Verdict: Court Caddy wins on premium aesthetic. ADV wins for understated simplicity.
Capacity
The Court Caddy is 30 liters. It holds up to 4 paddles in dedicated modular sleeves, 8 balls via the Patent Pending Rapid Grab system, and has a dedicated 15" laptop sleeve. An optional modular shoe cube adds footwear storage without cramming shoes into the main compartment. That's serious capacity for players going straight from morning drills to a work meeting.
The ADV V2 handles up to 3 paddles. The main compartment is roomy, the built-in shoe compartment handles footwear without an add-on purchase, and the cooler is genuinely useful for tournament days. If you never carry more than 3 paddles and don't need a laptop sleeve, the ADV is a more efficient setup for your actual load.
Verdict: Court Caddy is the clear call for players carrying 4 paddles, a laptop, or needing work-to-court versatility. ADV is more practical for 3-paddle players who want built-in organization without add-ons.

The Court Caddy's Rapid Grab ball system is one of those features that sounds minor until you've used it. Grabbing a ball in one motion during a drill session — without stopping, without digging — matters more than specs sheets suggest. The magnetic modular system lets you attach accessories and customize your setup in a way no other bag at this price allows.
The ADV's built-in cooler is genuinely useful for outdoor summer play and all-day tournament sessions. Cold water when you get back to your bag on a 90-degree court day isn't a minor feature.
Verdict: Court Caddy for players who need maximum organization and modular customization. ADV for players who want built-in convenience without paying for add-ons.
Durability
The Court Caddy uses premium PU leather and TPU-coated nylon — scratch-resistant, water-resistant, built to outlast the rough court surfaces that wear out cheaper bags fast. The textured TPU-coated nylon base is specifically reinforced for concrete and hard court use. Backed by a lifetime warranty covering manufacturing defects. Featured in The Dink, Pickleball Effect, and The Kitchen.
The ADV V2 uses quality weather-resistant materials and also comes with a lifetime guarantee. It's a durable bag that stands behind its product.
"The Court Caddy's TPU base has been on concrete courts four days a week for over a year — no wear through, no peeling. That's the construction quality we built for." — Grub, Co-founder, FORWRD
Verdict: Both bags offer lifetime warranties. The Court Caddy's TPU-reinforced base and premium materials give it the edge for players who are genuinely hard on gear.
Price
The Court Caddy is $325. The ADV V2 is $225. That $100 gap is worth thinking through before you commit.
If you're a 3x-per-week player who needs a laptop sleeve and plans to run this bag for 3+ years, $325 works out to under $0.30 per day. The modular design means you won't need a second bag because your needs changed. If you play once a week and just want a dedicated court bag without premium features, the ADV at $225 is solid value — you're not paying for things you won't use.
Verdict: Serious players get more value from the Court Caddy over time. Casual players will do fine with ADV's lower price point.
User Feedback
Court Caddy owners consistently praise the build quality, the Rapid Grab system, and the way the bag carries from court to wherever they're headed. The most common critique: the shoe cube is sold separately — feels like a hidden cost at $325.
ADV users love the practical value — built-in cooler, shoe compartment, and the price. Most describe the fit as right for a standard court kit. The charitable component resonates with players who want their gear choices to mean something.
Our Verdict
The FORWRD Court Caddy is the right bag for players who take their game seriously — and need it to work off the court too. The 4-paddle capacity, 15" laptop sleeve, Patent Pending Rapid Grab system, and premium construction are genuinely differentiated from anything else at this price point.
The ADV Pickleball Backpack V2 is the right bag for players who want practical, no-frills carry with a built-in cooler and shoe compartment at a fair price. The cause component — supporting youth sports nonprofits — is a real differentiator if that matters to you.
Play 3+ times per week, carry a laptop, want a bag that lasts: Court Caddy. Play occasionally, want everything included, value simplicity: ADV.

The ADV Backpack V2 is 37 liters. It does have a laptop sleeve with a seperate zipper on the side just in front of the paddle section. If not used for a laptop, the sleeve will hold an additional 2 paddles for a total of 5 which I currently have in my bag.
